Colonel Robert E. Pecoraro is currently retired from the United States Air Force after over 30 years active service to the United States. He was commissioned through the Officer Training School in 1982 and his career included tours as a C-130 navigator, instructor navigator, Tactical Airlift Liaison Officer to the US Army, and served joint staff tours in the Republic of Korea and Belgium. He also commanded at the Detachment, Flight, Squadron, and Group levels. Currently, he is an elected official serving on the North Tonawanda Common Council as an Alderman at Large and is married with three adult children. His goal as a military commander and also as an Alderman is to be both effective and efficient and the city has the right formula as witnessed by the independent sources highlighting North Tonawanda as a destination and for its security. In 2019, North Tonawanda was rated as the 68th safest community out of 2900 New York cities with a population over 10,000, according to Background Checks.org, an organization using FBI crime statistics to create state rankings. His advocacy for the city’s anti-bullying law and implementation of a School Resource Officer in North Tonawanda’s schools add to the safety of our youth. He also took on a security assessment of North Tonawanda’s most public building, City Hall. Colonel Pecoraro absolutely stands with law enforcement personnel where he believes security and safety come first so businesses can thrive and the resident’s quality of life is assured.
